Craigslist Moving to Paid for More Categories on 12/1/2016

We have some more Craigslist news for you. Craigslist just announced that starting Thursday, December 1, 2016 ads posted in the ATV, UTVs, Snowmobiles, Boats, Heavy Equipment & Trailers categories are going to be $5/ad.

Earlier this month, we shared that Craigslist is charging $5 for Motorcycle and RV ads, but now they’re charging for these additional categories as well.

What does this mean?

When this happened in the automotive space nearly 3 years ago, we recognized dealerships that put their budget together and continued posting on Craigslist, saw lead volume increase by 15 times per unit.

Craigslist, the 12th most visited website in the United States, just cut out the spam from these categories and put your ads right in the consumers’ view. The consumer experience will become much cleaner and focused for browsing when purchasing inventory.

Dealers will have two options to manage their postings for Craigslist on December 1, 2016.

  • Add a credit card on file in LotVantage (secured through CyberSource) and select the inventory you would like to post. Your credit card will be charged $5 per ad posted by Craigslist.
  • Give LotVantage your ad budget and let us manage it for you. We know what inventory gets the most leads and will be the most effective on Craigslist. Now you can syndicate your inventory and have one less thing to worry about.

As always, the LotVantage team is ready to take your calls, and will be reaching out to you via phone, to ensure your business is ready to go on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
